This beautiful Louis Vuitton checkered trunk features the very rare and sought after checkered pattern canvas. This canvas that also called damiers canvas is typical from the end of the 19th century.

Minor fading. Some fading in areas of the checkerboard covered canvas to the outside as well as a large stain on its quilting .

But as it is all original from 1889, it is easy to understand.

This trunk has kept its original interior and has never been relined, it also has kept its original quilting under its lid. It still has got its original Louis Vuitton label as well as its serial number. Its quilting is a little teared on the top right,as shown on photos but is original. Underneath, it was made of zinc to protect it from humidity for travels. It is in beautiful vintage condition as it has to be considering its age, around 100 years old. Perfect to use as a coffee table, blanket box or side table.
