Louis Vuitton Courrier Trunk in Damier Canvas 90 cm, Vuitton Steamer Trunk

This Vuitton trunk is one of the rarer Louis Vuitton trunks to be offered currently. Indeed , it features the world famous and sought after damier (checkerboard) canvas. Dating to 1889, it is a wonderful example of such luxury trunks.

Thanks to its chocolate color leather trim, its solid brass studs, corners, clasps and locks it still shows the same elegance as it did well over 120 years ago and is a testament to the durability of the best trunk maker in the world. Turquoise and white customized hand painted stripes on its sides add personality to this magnificent Vuitton trunk.

Every single stud , its main lock, its clasps as well as its brass side handles are all marked Louis Vuitton.

As to its interior, it is absolutely breathtaking. It quilting under its lid has been redone exactly as the original quilting with the French flag ribban (blue, white and red ) representative of Louis Vuitton production of 1889 commemorating French Revolution’s 100th birthday.

Then its inside lining is all original . Its large removable tray has been redone.
It still features its large Louis Vuitton label with its serial number.
